Hume Center for Writing and Speaking
The Hume Center for Writing and Speaking at Stanford University provides comprehensive resources for students to enhance their writing and oral communication skills, including one-on-one consultations, workshops, and multimedia resources. Center for Teaching and Learning
Stanford's Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) supports students and educators in enhancing teaching and learning through innovative resources, workshops, and individualized consultations. Undergraduates can take advantage of tutoring and academic support programs, while graduate students have access to specialized teaching development resources, including workshops on pedagogy and mentorship programs.

- Schedule Academic Coaching appointments if you are struggling or need structure with a range of academic topics
- Additionally, they have a Dissertation Coaching service
- Consult a CTL expert on a range of pedagogy questions
- Reference their teaching guides on key concepts or strategies
- Complete a Teaching Certificate with CTL and CIRTL
- Attend or enroll in their teaching and learning-focused workshops and classes that run every quarter
Vice Provost for Graduate Education
The Office of the Vice Provost for Graduate Education (VPGE) at Stanford University oversees graduate education, providing resources and support for graduate students, including funding opportunities, professional development programs, and community-building initiatives. - Participate in Stanford Graduate Summer Institute (SGSI), a week-long collection of accelerated courses held two weeks before Autumn Quarter
- Use their interactive Grad Grow tool that compiles professional development events and resources from across the entire University
Stanford Career Education
Stanford's Career Ed office offers comprehensive career support to students, providing resources such as career counseling, workshops, networking events, and internship opportunities to help them navigate their professional journeys. - Make an appointment with a Career Coach to help you with your job/internship search, career skills, or any other part of your career journey
- Career Coaches serve students and recent alumni in teams based on their academic discipline and degree level, including Frosh/Soph, Doerr School of Sustainability, and PhD & Postdocs
- Use their many digital resources like Handshake and Indeed Job Search Academy
- Take headshots using the Iris Air Photo Booth in their office
- Attend their workshops and career fairs that run every quarter
Stanford Alumni Association
Stanford's Alumni Office supports current students by offering networking opportunities, events, and career resources designed to connect them with the extensive Stanford alumni network.
